Gregor Blanco hit three hits, including a homer, to support an efficient effort by Robbie Ray in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 4-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.
Chris Owings also added a home run, while Ray threw a two-hit ball in seven innings to win his ninth win in 10 games.

Ray (4-3), who had a remarkable performance against San Diego in his previous opening, did not allow a run for second consecutive performance. He hit nine strikeouts and did not give tickets, to condemn the Brewers to their fourth straight loss, the worst streak they’ve had this season.
Arizona has won four straight games and has placed 11 games above the .500 mark, something it has not been able to achieve since 2011.
Blanco found the second pitch of the game and disappeared the ball before starter Zach Davies (5-3). It is the fourth time in his career that the Venezuelan shoots a volley in the first round of a match.

David Peralta scored a double in the third and Paul Goldschmidt scored a wild pitch in the eighth.
