Jake Lamb fired two homers and drove in five runs and the Arizona Diamondbacks crushed the San Diego Padres on Friday night after a first inning with eight runs.
Taijuan Walker (4-3) was the beneficiary of Arizona’s 16-hit attack, which racked up a four-game winning streak. Walker, who had lost his last two starts, worked six innings without conceding a run and gave up two hits, as well as three tickets and three strikeouts.

The Padres threatened Walker only once by placing two runners in the second. For the rest, Walker and Panamanian Randall Delgado controlled San Diego without problems, limiting it to a run in the ninth episode and four hits. Delgado got his first rescue.
This was San Diego’s heaviest defeat this season, in addition to the fourth consecutive and ninth in its last 11 dates. The Padres have a 4-13 record in May.
