Ray wants to get the best of himself in this opening since he throws much better as a visitor than at home. The casualty has a 0.71 ERA in two outings outside of Chase Field, while at its home stage it is 5.60.

For his part, Gonzalez had a good month of April with three wins without losses and 1.62 of effectiveness in five outings. That clean average for every nine innings is the third best in the NL.

About this meeting

-Robbie Ray will look for the first win of his career against Washington, the club that took him in the draft in 2010.

-Gonzalez is having another good month of April, just like in 2016. He and his team expect him to keep pace and not lose effectiveness as happened in mid-May last year, when he lost six of seven appearances.

-The Nationals will try to avoid a defeat that places them with .500 record at home (seven won and seven lost).
