Ryan Zimmerman hit two hits and produced the run of the definitive lead with a double, Jacob Turner threw four innings in relief without allowing runs and the Washington Nationals outpaced the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-1 on Wednesday.
Hours after being designated as National League Player of the Month, Zimmerman recorded more than one hit per game followed sexton, something unheard of in his career. He also stretched his streak of consecutive games to 10 with an unstoppable.

Left-hander Gio Gonzalez produced Washington’s other run with a shot in the third.
Turner (1-0) replaced Gonzalez in the sixth and completed the game, with four strikeouts and two allowed hits.
Robbie Ray (2-2) had 10 strikeouts against the team that took him in the 2010 draft, but allowed two runs and four hits in six innings. The Diamondbacks set a record in the majors with at least 10 strikeouts in nine straight games.
