The Diamondbacks raise veteran outfielder Grégor Blanco

The Diamondbacks moved up from Triple-A Reno to outfielder Grégor Blanco and sent right-hander Braden Shipley to that branch.

Blanco, 33, batted .391 (23-9) in six minor league games for Arizona, with one double, three RBIs and four stolen bases. In parts of eight Major League seasons, the Venezuelan has hit .258. He signed a minor league contract with the Diamondbacks on March 28.

Shipley, 25, made his only appearance with the big team this year on Thursday, allowing three clean runs in 4.0 innings.
