With power, D-backs repeated the dose to the White Sox

Jake Lamb and Chris Herrmann homered and Arizona faced the Chicago White Sox to win Tuesday’s 5-4 win in the seventh Diamondback win in eight games.

Patrick Corbin (4-4) focused after an irregular start to take the win. The left worked six innings and faced a batter in the seventh. In total he admitted three runs and eight hits.

Chicago rookie Dylan Covey (0-4), who has not gotten a win in the majors after eight starts, came out of the game with an out in the third inning for abdominal pain.

Jose Abreu reduced the difference to 5-4 with a homecoming before Jorge de la Rosa who opened the episode in the eighth. It was the 100th home run of his career, and the nine he has beaten this season were a visitor.

However, J.J. Hoover came out with an out and full bases to strike Kevan Smith and Yolmer Sánchez and retain the lead.

Fernando Rodney pitched a perfect ninth to sign his 11th save in 13 attempts.

Melky Cabrera and Todd Frazier also homered for Chicago.
