Zack Greinke looks and D-backs outnumber Marlins

Zack Greinke allowed just one clean run in seven innings for his seventh consecutive win in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ 3-2 victory over the Miami Marlins on Thursday.

The Diamondbacks rallied to cut the Marlins a streak of four straight wins.

Nick Ahmed hit three of Arizona’s six hits, including a single that produced two runs in the eighth inning and that meant the lead. The Diamondbacks won for the 13th time in their last 17 engagements.
Greinke (7-3), tied now as the most-pitching NL pitcher during the campaign, had eight strikeouts and four innings. He also hit a single and scored the first race of the Diamondbacks, to improve to a record of 5-0 in nine duels against the Marlins.

Archie Bradley struck out Marcell Ozuna with two outs to end the eighth. Fernando Rodney, who allowed a save to escape on Wednesday, during a duel that Pittsburgh won in extra innings, completed the work of five undisputed, resolving perfectly the eighth.

His 14th rescue was thus credited.

For the Diamondbacks, Venezuelans Gregor Blanco 2-0, David Peralta 1-0. The Cuban Yasmany Tomás of 4-0.

For the Marlins, the Ozuna 4-0.
